The flow of electrical power – electricity – is a secondary energy source.

It is created by converting primary sources of energy such as fossil (oil, coal and natural gas), nuclear, wind, solar and hydropower into electricity.

While fossil fuels currently generate the majority of electricity generated in Kansas, the use of renewable energy such as wind and solar continues to grow.
